Farewell to Richardsons.

richardsons

“It is not easy to give up our personal priorities and desires. . . . [But] ‘he who lives only unto himself withers and dies, while he who forgets himself in the service of others grows and blossoms in this life and in eternity’
(Gordon B. Hinckley, Teachings of Gordon B. Hinckley [1997], 588).”

Recently, we had a farewell pot-luck dinner at church to celebrate two very special people...Elizabeth and D. Chad Richardson. It was a time for us to engage in great conversation, eat some tasty grub and offer tender well-wishes to this dear couple.

The Richardsons have lived, worked and served in the McAllen, Texas area for over 30 years. They are leaving us to serve a 3-year church mission as the temple president and matron of this LDS temple. How blessed and honored we are as a ward family to have had the opportunity to get to know this amazing couple over the years.

We will miss them dearly; however, we know they will bless the lives of so many while serving in this region of Central America.

May Heavenly Father bless this sweet couple as they embark on their new journey!

We will miss you both...

"God be with you till we meet again;
By his counsels guide, uphold you;
With his sheep securely fold you.
God be with you till we meet again.
God be with you till we meet again;
When life’s perils thick confound you,
Put his arms unfailing round you.
God be with you till we meet again. "
(Hymns, 1985, no. 152)
